George Hurlburt

Mr. George Hurlburt started his career as a Naval Intelligence Officer, ultimately supporting the Joint Chiefs of Staff Pentagon briefing team. He subsequently joined the staff of the Naval Air Test Center as a civilian, where he assisted In promoting the value of systems engineering Test and Evaluation (T&E) to industry leaders. He eventually became an early pioneer in the collaborative WWW, working across the armed services under the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) sponsorship to support T&E. He co-chaired the OSD Software Testing Task Force. Coming to appreciate the complex behavior of networks, he developed a dynamic warfighting architectural tool, which gained notoriety and won an industrial award. He holds a Meritorious Civil Service Award. Since retirement, he regularly contributes to IEEE. He currently is an Associate EIC of the IT Professional Journal. His 86+ career papers deal with all aspects of IT and have accumulated over 1,300 citations.
